GENERAL

  • Virtual reality or virtual realities (VR), which can be referred to as immersive multimedia or computer-simulated reality, replicates an environment that simulates a physical presence in places in the real world or an imagined world, allowing the user to interact in that world.

  • We at Level 1 VR believes that virtual reality is the future of entertainment technology and is an amazing experience that anyone can enjoy, games and non-games alike.

  • Any Level 1 VR customers under the age of 18 must have their parent/guardian present at the start of the booking to sign the Terms and Conditions in-person, on behalf of their child. If the customer is under the age of 16, they must have a parent/guardian present during the entire experience.

  • Absolutely, and that’s our ultimate goal!  We would love to know that our customers went on to adopt this exciting technology in their own homes.  However, the current systems are somewhat expensive and require a rather large, unobstructed space in which to operate.  At Level 1 VR, we have everything setup for you and provide a large array of games ready for you to play immediately. We hope we can bridge the gap for those of you who just can’t wait to become a VR enthusiast!

BOOKING AND PROCEDURES

  •

You can book one of our HTV Vive VR stations for $25 /hour for a single player with the option to have a friend join you for no extra charge. During your session, you will have access to all the games in our library and you can swap in and out with your friend to share your VR experience!

  • If you are under 18 years of age, parent or guardian needs to sign your waiver on your behalf. If you are under the age of 16, we recommend that a parent or guardian be present during your session.

FACILITY AND HARDWARE

  • The Vive is a specific brand of head-mounted display (HMD), controllers and tracking peripherals which allow the user to see and interact with the virtual environment.  Infrared lasers and LEDs are tracked by each component, providing highly-accurate tracking capabilities to transfer your movement to your character in the game.

  • We’ve gotta start somewhere!  And, in our opinion, starting with the HTC Vive was a no-brainer.  For one, HTC has partnered with Valve, (creator of games like Half-Life and Portal and) the inventors of Steam – currently the worlds largest content distribution network.  With over 65-million active users and the endless line-up of available titles, the Vive is poised to offer some of the most innovative VR experiences – first.

Beyond the partnership with Valve, the Vive also offers superior tracking methods for its head-mounted display (HMD) and peripherals, which nearly eliminates motion-sickness and provides the most immersive VR experience available.

The Vive also offers Chaperone, a “virtual assistant” which uses a front-facing camera on the HMD to project real-world elements (tables, pets, walls, etc.) into your virtual world, giving you peace-of-mind that you are safe and aware of both realities during game play.

  • We are okay if you bring your own stereo headphones/headsets, however, we will not be able to accommodate Bluetooth and USB headsets due to the setup of our computers as it is not easily accessible.

If you wish to bring in your own controller, you can do so, but it should not be necessary as the HTC Vive wireless controllers provide the optimum experience for our games.

We do caution that swapping the tech will use up a bit of your session and we cannot guarantee that will be work with our systems.

  • Each station has roughly 180 square footage of gameplay space.

SAFETY AND REQUIREMENTS

  • We recommend that you leave your valuables in your vehicle however we provide a key-entry locker at no additional cost. We will hold onto the key throughout the duration of your VR session.

  • Highly unlikely.  Thanks mostly to HTC’s incredible Chaperone system, you will have a very good sense of where you are located in real space while playing the VR content.  Should you approach any walls, other people, chairs, etc. in the VR station, the Chaperone system will project a blue hologram of that obstacle inside the game.

  • Not likely!  The HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD) features slots to allow the average pair of eyewear to fit inside while using the system.  The Vive also features adjustment knobs to configure the focus for each eye independently, and a separate adjustment knob to match the screen separation to that of your eyes!

  • The optimal VR experience requires users to move their head and neck, and have use of at least one hand to interact with the environment.  However, since we are located in a basement suite the building is not wheelchair accessible so if stairs is a problem for you, our facility may not be suited for you.

Be sure to consult your doctor before using visiting Level 1 VR if you have pre-existing serious medical conditions (such as a heart ailment), conditions that affect your ability to safely perform physical activities, psychiatric conditions (such as anxiety disorders or post-traumatic stress disorder), or if you are pregnant or elderly.
